Wood Floor Renovation

Floor sanding is used to give the home or office a natural warm glow. This is possible because the smooth, even finish has revealed the wooden floorboards hidden under the carpet. This naturalness is welcoming to you and your guests and allows you to bring personality to every room in your home or office.

Floor sanding removes the old layers of wood from the floorboards to create a smooth, natural finish. This is then stained to make it hardwearing. The wooden floor can last for 100 years with the right amount of care. This care is easy to give to the floor as wood is a natural substance and keeping it in an excellent condition is not difficult. This easy to care for aspect makes it very attractive for every part of the home. The smooth even surface also means that everything is pleasing to the eye.

The floor sanding procedure has four aspects. These are used to prepare, sand and finish the floor, so creating the look you want.

Renovation service part one

The process begins with the repair stage. This prepares the wooden floor for the next stages. The repair stage removes all the harmful substances which may have damaged the wood, such as laminate glues, along with the nails and carpet tacks used to hold a carpet down. The holes, cracks and gaps which have developed over time are also filled and then the floor is prepared for the next stage.

Renovation service part two

The second stage is the renovation aspect. This is the actual floor sanding process. We use four different grades of sandpaper to slowly and carefully remove the uneven surface of the floorboards to make that smooth finish. The sanding process rejuvenates the floorboards and all those natural lines of the wood are brought out. The even and smooth finish already looks attractive.

Renovation service part three

The third stage is the finishing aspect of the floor sanding process. Here the wood is sealed and given extra protection by staining it. The preserves the wood and strengthens it. The staining brings out the warm wood effect and brings a cosy character to the room. The type of wood used reflects the look that this gives. Many decide that this stage is beautiful and leave the process here. But there is a further stage which adds even more.

Renovation service stage four

The fourth stage is the varnishing of the floorboards. The now smooth and even floor is given personality and feeling. The range of colours offered, along with the texture chosen, allow you to add your ideas, characteristics and personality to the room or office. The floor can be used to show off the room or to compliment it. The texture brings a shine, warm glow or matt finish, all equally as appealing and attractive as each other. The varnish adds a further layer of protection to the floorboards, ensuring that they are easy to care for clean, maintain and will last for years.

Floor sanding guarantees to add value to your home or office. The range of shades and colours available and the varying textures, allow you to give your home exactly what you desire for it. Personality, charm, warmth, cosiness - all these words and more sum up the natural look of a well sanded and finished floor.

We are a professional team of floor sanders with plenty of experience to turn your carpeted home into a warm and inviting natural place of comfort. The quality of our work is reflected in the added value the floor gives to your home. We use care and attention, gently repairing, renovating, sanding and staining your floors, adding a smooth finish with carefully applied varnishes.

Floor sanding gives your home and office what they deserve!
